It was okay for what it was. Seemed to be factual and historical fiction concerning Ramses and various characters of that period

Seemed to be factual and historical fiction concerning Egypt and its pharaoh Ramses, along with his daughter and son, a priest, a pioneer and various other characters types which are typical/realistic of that period in Egypt. I finished the book, and sometimes it was slow go, but it was recommended for 8th-12th "grade" students wtih a curriculum choice for history and biblical history that I am using and I don't think my oldest will enjoy this particular book yet. I would rate it due to complex plots and sentence structure for more of a late high school grade level. So, maybe I'll assign it later when the said child is older.

The book starts out slowly, filling out the various characters and subplots that will be extended upon the main conflcit, and which all characters will be involved. Once you knew where the story was headed, it became more enjoyable to read(think half way through the book). All in all, I'll give it three stars and would recommend it to older students and most adults who like realistic hisotrical fiction.

This story is written in an old fashioned style which I really enjoyed. The author took his time to develop the characters and the story had a good plot which all fitted together well.
